My first month with Straight Talk

My first full month with Straight Talk.

I started Straight talk on July 12th. I can't believe how fast one month has past and I look forward to using this service more. I am using the T-Mobile network sim, but Straight Talk also offers use of the AT&T network if T-Mobile coverage is not as good in your area.

For those that have not read yet, here is a link to my post about straight talk and their service.

So Share it Maybe.........Not?

Verizon and AT&T try to share taking your money

Image from IntoMobile

So within the past few weeks, Verizon and AT&T have announced and/or launched their shared data plans (Verizon going all into their shared philosophy as the only offering to new customers).  They say it will save you money, but I trust them like a trust a dog holding onto my steak while I warm up my grill.  These big companies just keep making up ways to separate you from money you work hard to earn, in the world where over the past 5 years the average American yearly income has dropped almost $5,000........screw them for taking advantage of us!

LTE vs HSPA+....the great debate?

Now that I have a few days and done some speed testing across different areas I feel I can begin sharing what I feel will be the "Norm" using straight talk.  More impressions to follow after my first full month with them.

Give it to me Straight

I have decided that I will start my prepaid adventure with Straight Talk Wireless.  Straight talk offers unlimited minutes, texts and data for $45 per month.  Data is "unlimited" but a lot of forums report that you get warnings after 2 GB of data and can even get cut off for the month for heavy abuse.  I personally usually use about 1.5 GB per month, so I see no problem using this service.  It is certainly giving me peace of mind not having to worry anymore about going over on my minutes on my 450 minute plan from Verizon.

The GSM Galxay Nexus by Google

Here it is..my new Samsung Galaxy Nexus direct from Google

Simplicity, no flim flam
What a beautiful piece of technology!  I have been wanting to get this phone since Google started offering it months ago.  Thankfully I was waiting for my contract end date, so I refrained from purchasing any phone until I got closer to the end date.  I spent countless hours researching what phone to get.  I searched plenty of used bargains on eBay, craigslist, CowBoom , but I ended up deciding on this phone as soon as Google dropped the price to an amazing $350 at their I/O 2012 conference. What I want from my technology is no bloatware, fast and frequent updates, simplistic design and lots of features.  The Galaxy Nexus checks all those boxes for me.
